Single-Stage Snow Throwers

NOTE: Before attempting any of the following repairs, shut off unit and disconnect spark plug.
Complaint Possible Causes Correction
Auger does not rotate when lever is engaged. An object is jammed in the Auger Housing Clear Auger Housing
Cable conduit is frozen Thaw conduit & lube with penetrating oil
Incorrect belt tension Adjust belt tension (see Owner's Manual)
Belt worn or broken Replace belt (see Owner's Manual)
Snow discharge distance has decreased with no change in engine RPM Incorrect belt tension Belt worn or broken
Adjust belt tension (see Owner's Manual) Replace belt (see Owner's Manual)
Unit fails to thoroughly clean snow Auger blades not completely contacting the ground Tilt unit forward slightly when operating
Auger blades worn Replace auger (See Owner's Manual or Authorized Service Center)
