Why are there no throttle controls on my lawn mower?

Posted September 23, 2011 in Lawn Mower (Walk Behind)

The throttle control is a feature that is not available on all engines, much like an oil filter or transmission gear (for a self propelled unit) is not on all engines.

If having a throttle control is important to you when purchasing equipment, make sure to ask your sales representative for an engine with throttle control.

Keep in mind, the lack of throttle control does not harm the engine. In fact, air cooled engines run best (for cooling and efficiency) at full throttle.
