What does the term 3-N-1 mower mean?

The term "3-N-1" refers to the ability of the mower to cut and process grass in three different ways:

1. Freely discharge grass through the opening in the deck.
2. Mulch the grass by closing off the discharge opening.
3. Bag the grass for disposal.
